Happy New Year

Posted on Monday, January 1st, 2007

Welcome to 2007! A night out last night left me pretty quiet today, but I couldn’t wait until tomorrow and decided to head to the keyboard to get out my first post of the new year!

And what an exciting new year it will be. You can see my predictions for the upcoming months, but what about my aims? There are a number of things I hope to achieve this year and the best way of ensuring that I complete my targets is writing them down and showing the world, at least, in theory it is. This is the first year I have ever thought I needed to do this, so here goes:

Quick Update

Posted on Saturday, November 11th, 2006

Life is new and exciting at the moment, I have a new house, a reasonably new job, money and a new design coming. My one problem is that I don’t have internet access. I am 95% finished with my new design (which is hot by the way) and I can’t upload it to test. I have ideas for posts bubbling inside of me, but I don’t get any time with a computer to set them free. I can just about manage to comment on some of my favourite blogs whilst I am at work, but I feel as though people are watching me even though I am on lunch break.

So don’t worry, as soon as my internet connection is re-established, I will back into the blogosphere like a writer possessed. I have so many things to say and once I get back at it, you won’t be able to stop me. Hang around, I will be back in touch soon.

Oh, and if you have been visiting and disappointed by any lack of updates, thanks for dropping by and don’t give up on me!

Theme Tweaking Hints

Posted on Monday, October 23rd, 2006

I’m busy at the moment, what with getting to and from work (admittedly taking up most of my time), playing rugby and keeping up with friends, family and eventually sleep. This is my attempt at an explanation for the poor quality of this blog at the moment.

But, I’m not just going to disappear because I run out of hours in the day to do all the stuff I want to. That’s one reason why I am posting now, you always have to make time to do things for yourself. I also fixed my stereo earlier, which was of great importance having bought a number of CDs recently and being unable to play them, but that is beside the point.

Commuting - Not A Way Of Life

Posted on Sunday, October 15th, 2006

There is something soul destroying about the daily routine of a commuter; waking up at 6:15am every morning, getting on a train at 7:16, arriving in London at 8:30, squeezing onto an underground train and clocking in at work by just after 9. Nearly 3 hours to get from bed to desk, but the worst is yet to come. Leaving work at 5, squeezing back onto the tube, catching the 17:58 train (which you have to board 20 minutes before it’s departure time, just in order to get a seat) and arriving home around 20 past 7. 4 hours of travel a day, for 7 hours of work. I always believed that commuting would be hell and wasn’t the way I was going to spend my free time during my working life. I was right, but at least I know the truth from my own experience now.

Out Of The Blue - A Job

Posted on Saturday, September 30th, 2006

I hardly mean to brag, but everything seems to be going right for me at the moment. Only last week my band were played on Radio 1 which thrilled me no end. Now I have more exciting news to spread; I have a job!

How Did That Happen Then?

Luck seemed to be a large part of it really. As you can probably tell, if you have read any other posts on this blog, I want to work in web development and I harbour a great interest in web standards and accessibility. Sadly I don’t have the necessary skills to apply for and get a job in this industry yet, but I have a plan that involves teaching myself and gathering experience and finally getting the job I want. However, there comes a time when your parents start asking more seriously when you are going to get a job, and that time was upon me.
