Sneaky Peek
Posted on Wednesday, November 1st, 2006
Ok, I’ve said all along it’s been a slow process tweaking and playing with my design, but it’s really starting to drag on now. So to keep you interested I thought I might let you have a quick peek at it. Sorry for the delay!

Yeah, light blues, gradients and purple bits! Exciting stuff. There shouldn’t be too much more banging of my head against various walls, there are only the fiddly bits left to do now (comments, archives, sidebar, etc), though the amount of time it’s taken me to decide on the format of the date has been rather surprising!
Anyway, what do you think? Does it look like an improvement on what you see before you now? Oh, and unlike Nyssa, I won’t be completely changing my mind! Though I really like her new theme, I hope my effort will stand up next to hers!

Nyssa Says:Ohh nice, looking spiffy! I love gradients, they just add something nice to everything. :)
I really can’t wait to see the final results. Glad to hear you’re not like me and change your mind completely :P

Stéphanie Says:Oh, I sense some really nifty tweaking coming up :-) I love the flower in the corner as a background picture. It’ll give an edge to the whole theme you are using right now. It will make it look even more interesting.
Getting rid of the blue buttons is also an excellent idea, it will harmonize the page, it’s more discreet and more balanced but yet very visible.
Keep it up, it’s going to look great.

Phil Says:Nyssa: You’re definitely right there, the plain white text areas I have at the moment are really lacking and adding the gradients makes a huge difference. To be honest, I can’t wait to see the final results either, but at least I’m getting there.
Stéphanie: Welcome to the site! Thanks for commenting and particularly thanks for liking the bits I gave away in that screen shot. I definitely agree, the gradient and the leaves in the corner are something new and different and the current buttons are a bit over-powering along with the dark blue bar they sit on.
I look forward to hearing what you both think once I finish it!
